    Ground Control help

So I have a set of the Ground Control conversion set up sitting inmy garage. I took them on trade on some other parts so they cam with no instructions and GC is kinda stingy on the info they will provide. I am going to be running billi sports with these. Do i need to cut the strut tubes or not. If I do how much do i cut out and then what is teh measurement from the top to weld my collar. If no cutting is needed how far down do I weld teh collars. One more what is the the body leanght of teh billi sports compared to factory boges.

Theres a DIY in the DIY section. It was bumped recently so it should be close to the top. I'll buy them though if you want to sell them and save yourself the trouble:o

I'm kinda surprised that you had a problem talking the GC about it. Their CS seems to be their best feature from what I've read!

            That did helps thanks.

When I called GC they were not real resposive to my question because I did not buy them from them. I took some pictures of my system to show that it was theres and they send me some hand drawn sketches with no measurements.

I have already cut the spring perches off. What i was wondering is if I needed to shorten the shock tube housing the inch like the DIY here mentioned. I do not plan on slamming the car, its my DD. Right now I am running HR sports with some old ass Billies. My plan is to go over to the GC with a newer set or Billies. I know Billies never were out but these have had it. Someone told me they will rebuild them but the turn around time is just too long for me.

So just to clearify, clean up the weld from the orginal spring perch, set new collar from GC on old perch, weld, paint and go correct. No need to cut the one inch out shock tube housing.

did you get a set of allen keys and a spanner wrench when you ordered your groundcontrol set? When I called, they said the e30 kit does not include this...which makes adjusting height a bit more troublesome. It comes in the e46 kit so i used a buddies :/

Nope, no need to shorten them. Just put the Billy sports in and get the springs and shit all together and you are set.

1+ I cannot believe people are complaining about not getting allen keys. If you don't own a set of allen keys you don't belong installing them!

Since when was it hard to loosen the screw and raise and lower the spring platform?

They don't sell their kits piece-meal. I'm not surprised they won't sell him any replacement parts. If he had bought it directly from them he might have had a shot but since it's second hand they probably don't know for sure that he's not just some guy trying to buy a few parts of their kit.

well if that's 100% the case, go with the IE pad.. I'm sure other companies sell the piece but IE was the first that came to mind
