can someone explain to me the problem with running stock shocks with lowered springs like h and r races or ie stage 3's? do you absolutely have to buy nice shocks?Leave a comment:

New Bilstein Sport front strut inserts.
New Bilstein Sport rear shocks.
Vogtland Springs.
Cabrio E30 front 21mm swaybar.
E30 M3 rear 19mm swaybar.
New front Control arms and Powerflex offset control arm bushings.
Tires are some 185/60/14 the PO put on, so they are undersized...Last edited by NOMAD; 10-12-2008, 10:44 AM.Leave a comment:

So no one uses stock BMW springs from one application to another? I've been through this thread & the one with spring rates.
Our faithful '85 325e has been driven by my wife, so has not had any performance mods - perfect the way it is, she says. It is now in my & 16 y/o son's hands! There is a hand's width between the top of the tires & bottom of wheel wells, so we'd like to bring it down a bit.
I found a set of used stock 325is springs (son is on a budget) - is that any improvement or drop?
Thanks in advance. Son & I have a chance to bond over this project! He will be spending some time behind the wheel with our NCC's highway safety school and Street Survivor programs.Leave a comment:
