haha well I guess I'm in the same situation as ninja man and mr.potter. I am in no position to dish out $400+ for shocks/struts :( Just to be clear, lowering sprigs on stock struts are a big no-no right?

That KYB kit doesn't look bad at all! If its any good I could save up a bit and buy those instead

why don't you save for a bit longer and get something that won't crap out in a year? Lowering your car isn't a need, it's a want. If your current suspension is holding the car off the ground, you can wait.

Sound just like my dad haha and in the sense that your saying what is true but I don't wanna hear :nice:

Based on all the feedback, I think I'm gonna hold off for a little and in the mean time brows for people's old kits. Also still awaiting JOM test results.

you asked for advice and you got some. Listening to douches like harry potter is only gonna get you in more shit. Would you rather spend the money and do the job right the first time or do you want to replace shocks every 6 months and go through the bullshit of uninstalling and reinstalling. That shit will add up quick and before you know it, you spent more than decent shocks would of cost in the first place.

I guess stereo installer is a douchebag too. Ask him about kyb's.

speaking from experience with my scirocco.

the joy of lowering it is not the lasting memory of the experience - all i remember is that I needed to shell out again to re-do blown suspension.

buying quality from jump street is worth the wait.

If you go cheap, go kyb. Everything else will blow out. This isnt heresay, ive had tokicos, the fronts blew in a matter of months.

Bilsteins arent all that expensive, and are bulletproof.

the difference is he knows they are cheap, he just doesn't care.

$450 for 4 shocks is *not* expensive. There are plenty of shocks out there that cost more than $450, each.

I never stated kyb's were equal or even close to billys.

you being a douche has nothing to do with your love for kyb's.

                          Sure did haha

Thats the main reason why I'm holding off. When doing research the first time around I had no idea those shocks blew out so fast :???: I can tollerat softish springs but I definitely don't have the time or money to be swapping shocks out all the time.

einstein may be hooking it up with an... experimantal setup
