10 years and 250,000+ miles on my Bilstein sports / H&R sports. Still going strong, just pulled the shocks a few months ago to install drop hats and they still felt new, by hand.

If the JOM's do last that long, you will be enjoying unknown spring rate and shock valving rates. Even if you are provided rates, you will be questioning the accuracy. When you are talking about precision parts for that price, something has to give. Something is lacking. There's no way around it. To some people, this doesn't matter, and they say things like "my car handles great" (these people generally think the stiffer a suspension setup is, the better it handles).

This was another reason why I didnt go with it on my cars. All my oem'ness then go with these? Actually, if anything, it made think more about going with GC C/O just to get the stance right. Like I said ill do it on a different car.

Ride quality is directly related to, and mostly determined by, shock valving and spring rate.

Maybe the JOM stuff will be good enough for ya. Maybe it will even last more then a few years and maintain that ride quality. That comes down to person preference though, not Internet knowledge. A soft ride to one person, is a harsh ride to another person. See if you can find someone local with that setup to ride with?

I can only assume the spring rates and shock damping are more 'comfort oriented' than the billie/H&R combo. And considering I put *maybe* 4K miles on that car each year, it'll probably last longer than I have any interest in keeping the car. I really just want to get the car about 1" lower front and rear. I thought about getting the $400 GC weld-on kit since I already have shocks, but then I'd have to get camber plates too (another $300 or so) and I wouldn't be able to resell my 10K Bilstiens either. It would end up being much more $ to go that route, and considering I will never drive this car hard enough to really test the limits of suspension I'm not all that worried about how 'fine-tuned' it is.

I'm sure my heavy-as-fuck 17" Kopis have more to do with ride quality than my suspension however :(

JOM springs are stock diameter, GC are 60mm. I can't put GC springs on a stock perch.

yes, you can. They come with upper spring seats, you don't use the stock upper hats. It works with the stock bearings just fine. Mine have been that way for a few years and I know others have done it long ago..

ck_taft325is and I both run the JOM coilover set. For just daily driving your car and having some stance the kit is great. Its a pretty straight forward install and will go as low as you probably want. If you have any questions just talk to either of us about the kit. Apparently these are just mid-line KYB's painted a pretty color with some good springs to match.

If you can, go with GC's if you want that "uber stance" or "super track" handling. Honestly, I have nothing against the JOM's and they've handled great. I paid what I could to get the ride and look I wanted. They ride plenty firm without being too firm. Corner great and beyond my early arches kicking my "stance's" ass, no complaints what so ever. I'm replacing the rear shocks as I've got a kiddo and seem to constantly be transporting massive amounts of parts to and from places so the stiffer springs with a bit more low will be good for my taste.
