And im asking for some knowledge on the best solution. I figured the PO would have sorted this all out correctly the first time around but apparently not as im dealing with positive camber in the front and running the wrong type of camber plates for the suspension im currently running.

Get good camber plates (GC or Vorshlag) and either cut your strut housings and put Konis in there OR get a proper coilover strut.

Or, y'know, keep half assing it and having issues. Your call.

IX inserts, IE camber plates, cut housings. weld in new collar or use thick bead. Profit.

    -reference Ricksloans car.

I hear the cosmo camber plates get pretty good reviews, any thoughts on them?

Yes, the StanceWorks zero clearance coilovers built by AST for the e36 chassis will go significantly lower b/c they have a shorter strut designed to be run low unlike the bilsteins.

Do not take this as a sales pitch, but you asked so I answered. I would personally cut the housings and shorten them myself.

yes, that is where you gain suspension travel.

get some real camber plates - vorshlag, GC, whatever - that will give you at least a half inch more travel, probably a lot more.

Do they eliminate the need for the stock bearing carrier?

The ie plate is about 1/4 of a inch thick and goes above the stock bearing carrier. Im almost positive the shock is bottomed out and THATS my issue. Also Im unsure weather completly grinding off the perch and rewelding a bead is safe to do in this sort of strut.

    Thanks for the reply though.

how does the stack height of IE camber plates measure up to GC or vorshlag?

    what about using shorter springs?

    cutting/welding the perch lower?

    there's lots of options..
