E30 steering racks like to shit the bed every 100K miles or so. If you're losing a whole bottle of ATF fluid PER DAY, you probably need a new or rebuilt rack right now. You have the option to rebuild your current leaky rack, but I think you'd be better off just buying a known-to-be working one and swap it in.
Wow. 1 bottle a day is bad... Have you looked under the car and made sure a line isn't just lose or broken?
If you squeeze the rubber boots on the ends of the rack and fluid comes out (if the boot is ripped/torn) or you can feel fluid inside the boot, then the rack's seals are busted. Then it's definitely time for a new/rebuilt rack.

1 bottle a day!? Jesus christ man lol...if the seals are busted and you need a new rack and are looking from a bit of an improvement from the e30 steering racks, they have e30-e36 steering rack conversion kits at http://www.zionsvilleautosport.com/s...ct_Code=E30SRC. Just an idea. :D-Adam Schmidt-

Every black wheel, regardless of spoke design, looks the same from more than 3 feet away.

Do yourself a favor - before you get another rack hunt down Valveolean(spelling????) Max Life ATF fluid - it comes is a redish-brown plastic bottel.
Stuff is amazing - also makes a non-leaking rack feel even better - more feedback, and smother.

Leeking steering rack
Probably need to have your steering rack rebuilt. You can buy a kit from BMA Autoparts rather cheap and do it yourself, but I've read that it's a mother of a task. You can purchase a rebuilt steering rack (from someone like www.meridianautoparts.com) and have it installed.
In the short term, use Valvoline Stop Leak Transmission Fluid. After a few refills, the leaking should cease for a bit. This is just a band aid fix until you replace your steering rack though.
