    &%@#ing stuck.

Sooo, I finally got all the pieces I need to ditch my 4x4 status, and started the job this afternoon.

How the heck do you get the control arm and the tie rod off the bottom of the strut?!?! I have the Bentley Manual and did everything it says to do, and have checked and double checked to make sure there's no nuts or anything holding it on. The bolts that come up from the balljoints seem to be permanently attached to the lower part of the strut.

I just sprayed it down with WD40, maybe it's just rusted together... I don't know. Any ideas?

pitman or leave the nut on top end of the thread and hammer it, then go to junk yard and grab two new nuts to replace it.

I will look for one of these tomorrow. That definitely looks like a "work smarter, not harder" kind of a tool. I like.

Same issue, bent 2 forks trying to remove it, even after taking a bfh to it. Case in short: buy a separator.

Have a friend put weight on a pry bar trying to separate it and then use a hammer and smack the strut housing. Thats how I got mine out, took a lot of cursing too:p

If your going to use one of these ball joint seperators leave the nut still on the tip of the balljoint and its not always the best to tighten until it pops, its better if you tighten it hard then hit the top with a bfh.

this tool is a F***ing lifesaver

this. And a hammer. And some safety glasses. AND tie it down so it doesn't fly
