    Sean's crossweights thread

    Trying to scale the SE30.

    Before:

Okay, so lower = lighter, right? So I put a 7.5mm spring pad in the right rear. Should weight that corner better, right?

    After:

    20lbs lighter. Huh?

To correct the cross error you want to raise the right rear corner, which would mean thicker spring pads on that corner. On the rear wheels you can stack spring pads.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That could happen because you did not also put a thicker pad in the left front. Usually you work the wheels on both ends of the light diagonal. You might also remove all the pads on the other diagonal.

I have pads in both front corners. I have to add to both corners? The LF has always been very heavy.

It's such a pain to get those front ones in and out though. Should I just cut the RF one out?

I'd remove the pads from the RF to LR diagonal and add pads to the LF to RR diagonal. If this is a race car that is carrying ballast, I'd put that ballast next to the RR shock tower.

...and I'd check the scale wiring, too... because I made that mistake once,
and it does, in fact, drive you insane.

Yeah, +1, remove spacers from heavy wheels, add spacers to light wheels....

Threaded collars make life so much better... if they're legal. Not in sE30, tho, right?
