            many ways. grab a vise grip wrap it with towel then clamp on strut (shiny surface) get a rachet and socket. bam

            you may need a spring compressor, that works too. lol

            easier to do with the whole thing off the car

                    MAKE SURE you have a spring compresser holding the springs. Otherwise when that nut comes off they will FLY apart, and you could injure yourself.

                        spring compressors aren't needed, just lay it on the ground on its side pointing away from you so when it POPS you dont get hit lol

                          Just found out the easiest way is to
                          1. jack up the strut so pressure prevents the shock from turning
                          2. loosen the nut
                          3. release jack SLOWLY
