    Cheaper option to Bilstein Sports?

    Hi all,
I am thinking about getting a set of Eibach Pro-Kit specific for cabrio (1.7" front - 0.8" rear) and I was wondering if I could use a cheaper option for struts/shocks than the Bilstein Sports.

I want to buy all new. I know KYB and Bilstein make cheaper shocks/struts, but I don't really know if they would work well with these springs...what options do I have? I am not going to autocross/race the car. This is just almost a DD.

    Thanks a lot in advance!!
    Aloha

Boge turbo gas if still available, KYB, etc. It would be worthwhile to invest in bilsteins though.

Eibach Pro-Kit are mega soft, you shouldnt need much of an upgrade in shocks to handle the rates of them...

So, can I use KYB gas shocks/struts with Eibach Pro-Kit for Cabrio springs? I read people saying the KYB shocks bottom out pretty easily...

Your car looks good, but in the "Cabrio ride height" thread you just posted you had BS Sports w the Pro Kits.

              Can you clarify ?

I have BS Sports and Pro Kits in my 318i (and yes they are soft) but was not aware they made a Cabrio specific spring. Where did you source those ?

              TIA

                Clarifying:
That picture was taken right after I finished installing the Eibach Pro-Kit springs for coupes/sedans. It didn't look good, it looked terrific! However, two days later, the springs settled and I had an extra 0.7" drop, which looks good, but it's too low for my taste (and a little unsafe). I ended up with a total of 2.3" drop in the front (it's rated at a 1.4" front drop for a sedan). Since these springs are very soft were made for sedan/coupe, which are much lighter than verts, I was afraid I might bottom them out often (I did a couple of times).

So, I bought the Eibach Pro-Kit made specifically for verts (at Tirerack.com), which will give me a approx. 1.7" drop at front and a 0.8" in the rear. Just what I need, and I will not be afraid of bottom them out cause they have higher rates than the ones I installed in the car.

The shocks I bought are the rear ones. I went for KYB simply because I ran out of money and I needed to put something in the car! (at $47 each, can't beat that) The rear stock shocks are not in good shape anyway, so it'll still be an improvement. I'll eventually buy the rear BS.
