    Should I shorten strut housing?

I just purchased ground control coilovers with 450f/600r rates; I'm going to be using them with 325i not ix or g60 Bilstein sports up front and KYB Camaro shocks in the rear. My question is; is it advised that I shorten the front strut housing with the Bilstein shocks I am using even though they are not shorter than stock? I've searched and there is too much conflicting information. I'm not looking to hellaslam the car, just a slight drop however; if I can gain travel / improve handling by shortening the housing then I will.

How will u shorten the housing without using shorter shocks?

Exactly my question, I didn't think it was possible but some people stated to shorten them regardless. As well as the GC instructions.

the people that shorten strut housings use shorter shocks. You will not be able to install a 325i damper in a shortened strut housing.

You could weld the spring perch lower but to use any of the effective lower ride height you would probably be sitting on your bump stops...
