    Power Steering Delete Help

the oil on my power steering is currently low and its leaking. its making noise because the oil is low. i was wondering if i do a PS delete will this noise still be present? and also if i wait till all my oil has leaked out will that show me how it feels to have a ps delete. like how hard it is to turn?

its just the pump thats making the noise. cut the belt and the noise will be gone. if you run it dry, the p/s pump will go bad.

Take the belt off the power steering pump, the noise will stop and you be able to see how it will feel before you remove it all the way.

I have mine deleted. I like it alot. Adds a nice dynamic to driving, its not ahrd at all. When you get going 25 or so it feels almost the same really, and faster than that it is the same feeling

Parallel parking is a bit of a bitch but its nothing you cant get used to

Until you remove the lines to the pump and get a proper delete kit or run it without hoses on the rack you will constantly be fighting the pump...when deleted properly there will be less effort required than with just cutting the belt

^ yup I just went down to autozone with the banjo bolts and told them I wanted hose to cover the holes on the part that isnt threaded. They even did it for free. Put the bolts back in and it is awesome

Yep that's basically exactly what I did, down to getting them free too. I believe that you need to let air escape from inside the rack, but the hoses will allow that.

No need to have a loop of line or any atmospheric vent. Air is compressible, unlike the hydraulic fluid so as long as you drain most of it out, there are no issues with just plugging the rack. Plus it really cleans up the engine bay nicely.

Quick transitions are no problem and no binding of the rack occurs...
