You are correct. I should have specified where I got my numbers. For the front, I am counting the number of coils between the ends of the spring (when looking at the side of the spring, with the ends visible, there are 5 coils between the ends that will seat on the spring perches). On the rear, I counted the full width coils, but ignored the pigtail ends. I am aware than this is not 100% accurate, but am sharing it as a ballpark estimate of the spring rate to help people make their decision.

I will add data once I install them and can accurately measure the free coils under compression. Until then, however, I am curious to know how the different ST springs compare to each other, as that would certainly affect peoples choices for ordering. There are currently m3 springs still available. Who knows if they will add more.

I made a post comparing both.. The M3 coils in the front are 1.25" longer than the 318 coils and have 1/2 more coil in the winding (7 vs 6 1/2).

IMO, they kick ass. Not too low nor too high, I'm satisfied. $70+tax at it's finest.

(the angle might show more wheel gap than it appears in person)
          Awesome looking car man!!

Hi guys, first time posting here, although I signed up last year August :p
My rear shocks are going on my 1988 325 and I thought of changing out the springs as well. As there are only 3 sets left of the M3 springs, would these fit okay on my car? Planning to go Bilstein Sports as this is my wife's DD.

On the other hand, I spotted KYBs on ECS Tuning which looks promising too. Not looking to slam it but just enough to take away some of the 4X4 look.

            Thanks!

Update: just bought the M3 springs

Can someone post pictures of a 325e with the original shocks and this set of springs installed?

I want to drop the car but ... I want to keep my oilpan safe.

My M3 springs are in transit and I've got my shop to order Bilstein Sport shocks so it'll be at least a week for me to post pics.
