Lucky me, i got handed down an 87 325i. I want to lower the car. Now obviously gettin new springs and struts will do that. but im a brooooke college student. i was wondering how much removing the spring pads will lower it. ive heard cutting springs. i also dont mind fishing around a junkyard. are there any springs i could look for that are shorter than my stock ones. please offer any suggestions. im not knowledgable in this field. thanks in advance

you can look for used m3 springs on ebay (m3 springs meaning springs from an e30 m3) you can use your struts, id suggest replacing the shocks while you already have the struts out of the car, youll need compressors to get the springs out if you didnt already know that, you can find how tos on the internet, it might take you a while the first time you do it but its not too hard.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

you won't be able to lower your car very much at all on stock struts, they will blow out shortly (if they aren't blown already). you could get away with M3 springs with stock struts, or maybe look for a used set of H&R sports and bilstiens (or similar). just remember that most of the time you get what you pay for..
