H&R race springs loose on install

I have been installing my H&R race springs and blisten sports and found that when assembled, the shock is too long there is a massive gap between the hat and spring without compression pics below

measured the length of the strut from the thread to base

    Everything is fine.

The h&r race spring is much shorter than the stock spring. Install everything then lower the car slowly and make sure the upper perch is seated correctly on the spring. Once that's done lower it all the way down and go for a drive.

Don't worry. You didn't do anything wrong. A lot of guys have asked this same question. It's just the length of the new spring playing tricks on you.

I went through the same thing last weekend, swapped my stock springs for race springs and scratched my head when I noticed the same thing. like said above, just seat them correctly when lowering the car

Haha if ur freaking out about race springs u should see how loose 2.5 in coilover springs fit. The rears fall out when the suspension is fully extended.

Even if it doesn't seat correctly, it will after a few hard bumps. :)

No. You should see how much space 5" length coilover springs have both front and rear at full droop.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
