Modify Z3 rack? change torsion bar

    I wasn't sure the purpose of the smaller diameter portion in the HP hose, thanks for sharing.

    And I agree, changing the torsion bar is the only appropriate way to alter the PS feel, not altering the steering wheel diameter, or the PS pump pressure.

      And that's what I'm trying to find out: if it's feasible to change out the torsion bar in the Z3 rack. If it's too much coin, I'll just have to live with it...

        My guess is you would need a custom rack from something like this company

        However, IF the E36 racks use different torsion bars, my best guess is that they would be interchangeable between the same MFG such as ZF.

          Then you have never driven an E32 with speed it's speed sensitive power steering pump. It ran at high pressure at low speed and low pressure at high speed. To get an idea of what that is like at speed, remove the belt from the power steering pump.
