They are not 'copies' they are the exact same thing. Only the BC is 2mm larger in diameter. If you want a car that car perform, I would not run BC/Megan/CXR/etc. They are crap. You'd be better off building your own out of Koni/Bilstein.

I assumed you meant that he should just fabricate it all himself? Thus the words "build" ?

I meant that he would be better off building a set of homebrew coilovers similar to the GC and GE kits with Koni or Bilstein shocks

GEs, konis, and even the shitty 100$ ebay camber plates would be a better result than the BC/Megan/D2/whatever style that everyone sells. Too many unknowns with them.

My personal opinion is that for the price of the GC kit, you'd be hard pressed to find a better setup.
