A 4" spring with no adjuster will have the trailing arms bottomed out. If you want to go that low, it is a nessecity to trim the spring centering nubs like Chif said.

That multiplying factor is the same reason you run higher rates in the rear.


Anywho, a 4" is very short w/o adjuster and you will be in shitty part of your shocks stroke, or bottomed out if you dont go with a shorter shock.

Why does it seem the idiots all flock to suspension threads?

I'm going to order 4" springs. It should give me 2" of upward travel before the lower sleeve hits the upper mount.

As it sits right now, my 6" rear spring with the sleeve adjusted all the way down sits right about stock height. So a 5" spring will lower it 1" with no further adjustment. I'll go 4" and adjust the sleeves up to get me 1" lower. Plus the higher spring rate springs won't compress as much. I'll get one of those tender/helper springs to keep everything in the perches.

It doesn't work like that. The spring sits about halfway between the trailing arm pivot and the wheel centerline, so a 5" spring with the same rate as your 6" spring should (theoretically) lower you about 2". It's not exactly halfway though, and there are other angles in play so it won't be exact, but don't think 1" at the spring equals 1" at the wheels.

You might. Before you put the spring in, take the old springs out and measure the wheel/fender gap. Install the spring and measure again. The difference will be your compressed suspension travel.

i just ordered 600lb 4inch springs. so im gonna run them on the adjuster, do i need to cut the metal bump stops or anything?

Well, the shop I ordered from said there was a 6 week backorder. Weak! So I'll probably go with Eibach. Summit has them but they aren't in stock as well.

@chrisk, after I did some measurements on my car, I think it is possible. However, a 4" spring will fall out on full droop without a helper spring

I just ordered my springs from H&R, part number was RF100570 for a 100mm(4") 570lb/in, and some part of the RF means 60mm (2.25").

I'm going to order from a local place that also races. 0400.225.0550 and it seems to go any lower than a 6" spring on a lowered vehicle means your spring will be to short when you droop, even with a shorter shock. I have pictures of my rear suspension somewhere but I'll try to post it up, before and after, compressed and drooped.

I like the IE spring pads. They hold the springs pretty well

At four inch your springs will fall out if you lift your wheels, right? I was going to order0600.225.0550 on monday for my rear.

The 6 in that rate will sit like H&R sports. A little tall for the typical coil spring buyer.






Here is a 4.5" 650 spring with no adjusters i think. I've put on 4 different setups. Could be a 5" 650. I'll check when i get home.

im running hyperco 4 in 2.5di 500# spring in the rear without adjusters just fine. and the stock JOM adjusters worked perfectly with them. gonna need to cut the steel bump stops if you dont plan on running an adjuster, and add padding to the trailing arm as it will now hit the fuel hose that goes to the tank on the pass. side.
