Because the softer sport springs will compress more than the race springs under the same load.... yielding more concerns with bottoming out.

Also, the drop difference between sport and race is minimal.

If you have race springs might as well ditch the pads, and consider running a skid plate. Shitty roads + low e30 = broken oil pan. Ask me how I know

H&R Sports with drop hats in the front. If you go race on bad streets you will bottom out crack oil pan and possibly effffff the rear arch up too.

Is there upper and lower spring pads? Gonna tear into this next week, just trying to have everything for the swap ahead of time.

just went nice little ride with my race spring and no pads .I hear no noises .
I might in future put the smallest pad possible only for piece mind so it is not metal to metal ,chance rust or ware.

Yes, both front and rear have upper/lower pads

FYI, H&R race springs are pretty much identical to IE stage 3's. Most would agree as well that the front will look higher then the rear. Some people cut 1 coil off the springs in the front to help with this. When installed, that one coil is fully compressed, so cutting it off will not affect anything but height.
