Does anyone else find it funny that if anyone else created this thread, Jordan would be calling them a n00b for using incorrect spring rates to prevent rubbing and telling them Ground Control sucks?
Anyone else rubbing on this?

Nah, I'd tell people to raise the car up a turn or 2. But I don't want to, I like the stance. That and I've only rubbed it twice in a month. Its not the end of the world.

Originally posted by InsanityMan, so many people lower their cars more than is ideal for handling. Just because you're not bottoming out doesn't mean your car is lowered correctly. See, the only point of decreasing your center of gravity is to decrease the size of your roll couple, the virtual lever arm that exists between your Cg and your roll center. Lower a macphearson or semi-trailing arm suspension more than about 1-1.5" (depending on the car) and your handling will actually be WORSE compared to a car with the same spring rates and a higher ride height. Having a lower centerr of gravity in and of itself means nothing.

Of course I have, I've never denied that, and I'm well aware of how the suspension works. Optimal or not it still handles worlds better then stock. I've got the GSP roll center spacers here but I have no idea when I will get around to installing them.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

What's goin' on?
Instant centers move laterally 10-15 feet with only a few degrees of body roll. The roll center can actually move to the contact patch of the inside tire and the COG go straight down. What? I thought I knew this stuff. If anyone is really interested, there are computer modeling systems for PC's.
You can down load a 7-day trial. Input the susp. data and apply acceleration, braking, and lateral forces to the COG. Bill Mitchell's gear program is a wrench to a lot of teams. I have friend that can model a lap time on a new track that he's never seen to within a second on a one minute lap and give you the gearsets for a Formula Ford. Real handy on a new city street course that no one has run before. Measuring all those suspension points in 3D space is a PITA though.Comment
