    Front end suspension rebuild

Thoughts and opinions welcome. 1988 325 Convertible

Rebuilding the front suspension next weekend. Parts on hand:
    Used Tokico blue struts/shocks
    2 x New bump stops
    2 x New strut mounts
    2 x New control arms
2 x New lollipops with oe bushings pre-installed
Used Vogtland front springs (may install the fronts now and install HR/Eibach vert specific later OR may purchase a full set of vert springs this week for the install)
2 x New tie rod assemblies
To be purchased/rented: pickle fork, spring compressor

Am I missing anything? Is there anything else I should be replacing while everything else is apart? (rotors, pads, bearings, sway bar end links were recently done)

Also, I may have to replace the starter. Is it any easier to get to with the control arms off?

    TIA

I would do the sway bar links and bushings and I'd also throw in an e36 rack if time\budget allow.
Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

If the outer tie rod ends are worn, the inners are two. Replace the entire tie rod and boots. You will also need new lock plates and band clamps.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I actually meant to ask - are tie rods a wear item? Or are you only supposed to replace when bent/broken?

I bought the outers blindly as they are included in the kits that BavAuto and others have, and I thought they might be a wear item. Turns out I bought a full tie rod assembly - the inners and outers together.

Doing this tomorrow. Got the H&R Cabrio specific springs. Anyone have anything else to chime in?

          Thanks!

just did all of this - replaced every moving part.

i would recommend to throw the "oe replacement" cab directly into the garbage and just get the OEM e36 control arm bushings.

i tore apart a couple "cab specific" control arm bushigns.. tried the e36 cabrio bushings since they were supposed to be heavier.. and they were trashed in 3 months - then i just started using centered m3 e36 bushings and life is good.
