Some European cars came with a manual steering rack, i.e. no power steering system from the factory. The ratio was ridiculously long (4.45 turns lock-to-lock or something like that) to make up for the lost mechanical advantage.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? That stop leak stuff is pretty nasty goop. I used some in my Land Rover, it had some pretty bad leaks and the stop-leak sealed it up pretty well... but it's also gumming up the pump and the steering box valves. It poured out of the bottle like rubber cement, and is super sticky. I contemplated using some in the e30, but after the experience with my Rover I'm not too sure.
I'll probably just delete the power steering on the e30. I'd do the same on the Rover, but it's a good deal heavier vehicle, and the steering ratio is just not right for driving without power steering.
Oh and don't just cut the belt

Im not sure how it works for auto zone, but i worked for advance for a short period of time...
subsequently you should go back and raise hell about what happened and demand that they give you a new rack. make sure you ask to talk to a manager :D
Worse case they do nothing, but hey its worth a shot.
With advance if an employee broke a windscreen or something advance would replace it.

Yeah go ps delete, like stated before, chances are you won't even feel the difference. It's only "tough" when parking but as soon as you go above 5mph it's nice and easy againYOUTUBE: AR Perez
