If you have $400-$500 to spend you're better off buying used Bilstein Sports front/rear (usually about $300) and used H&R Sport or IE3 springs (usually $120-$200). Unless you already have Bilstein Sports, you can buy the GC or GE coil conversion kit for about $400.Comment

look for local deals, and also on ebay. I got bnib GC coilover conversion from a 95 toyota celica, and they are the same ones for the e30 with a little modification. Got them for $100 shipped.2014 Alpine White 335i MSport

No one "needs" $400 coil overs. In fact a lot of people "need" to not have them.
If you have bilstien sports already, pick up a set of H&R spot/race springs and spend the rest of refreshing your rubber.-------------------------------------------------

If you want coils that don't suck, and are cheap, either:
Springs:
Camp out the FS section for a set of used GE coilovers or GC coilover conversion setups. I picked up my GE coils for $250, and unlike JOMs/raceland/ebay or megan/bcracing/whatever setups, they have proper spring rates and aren't made as cheaply as possible.
Alternatively, buy some dirty cheap ebay civic coilovers, keep the adjusters and perches, ditch the springs, and buy some springs from eibach or hypercoil for the rates/lengths you want.
Struts/Shocks:
A) Bilstein sports all around, or iX bilstein HD front strut inserts if you want to bottom out the adjusters, or section your strut housing to go lower. Not valved perfectly for coilovers, but they aren't bad. You can always get them revalved later to match better, or even buy someone's old blown shocks/struts to do this.
B) Konis. People here seem to love koni SA shocks/struts, and you can run the same iX front/rwd rear setup as with the bilstein, except the adjustability can make them feel a little closer to the proper valving. Bilsteins are cheaper to revalve, and supposedly last longer.
If you don't give a fuck about how the car handles, cut your springs or buy some fucking joms/racelands.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30Comment
