So I'm looking at getting a set of GE coils. How exactly do they go together? It says that you dont have to weld your struts at all, but how do the adjusters mount? Do they screw into the threads at the top of the strut (where the shock insert lock nut goes)? Also would you recommend cutting the OEM spring perches? How difficult is it to adjust with the OEM perches?

The front adjusters have a rubber band of sort, that goes between the housing and the adjuster. It causes a friction based fit.
The perch should be cut (although generally not NEEDED) to allow easier adjustment.2014 Alpine White 335i MSport

Watch the FS section like a hawk. I picked up my set for $250 a few weeks after the group buy ended.
I would definitely recommend cutting the OEM perch off except for the weld. The sleeve sits nicely on the weld left behind. If I were to cut my housings, I would do it nicer.
PS. I wish I had a better picture for you, but this is the best I have.
SO that's a picture of my GC set up for reference. The problem with not welding a new perch is simple, the adjuster nut (yellow piece in pic the spring rests on) will make contact with the stock spring perch. That means you would only be able to adjust your coilovers less then HALF of how low they should go. If you cut the spring perch and welded on a skinny one, the yellow adjuster wont hit anything, and you can go all the way down to the bottom threads.
Now, my little review. I did install the coils like you see in the pic, without welding. The lowest setting using that method (no welding) actually raised my car higher then my Eibach Pro Springs I had in originally. A week later I took everything out and welded in a new perch. This is how it is now,
As you can see the yellow adjuster can go all the way down with out hitting the stock perch. Again, leaving the stock perch will limit your adjustability, and possibly raise your car higher then It was originally.

Springs are very comfortable! Highly recommend them. I went with 375 front 475 rear. Sadly, I don't have a before and after, but for reference on my stock tire size 15 inch basket weaves, I had a 3 finger (just measured my fingers lol, 2 inch gap) between the fender and tire before cutting the stock perch off. And again, that was the absolute lowest I could adjust it down before cutting the stock perch off. Keep in mind this isn't shorting the housing, just cutting the perch off.
Here is the height I'm at now, as you can see in the previous pic, I can still go a tad bit lower.

I meant how tall are your springs, sorry for the typo. And that fitment would be perfect, maybe a little lower.
