You tell me which one's I should get. RSM's

I just got back from Bav Auto in Perrysburg and my vert needs new rear shock mounts. I am eventually going to do a KW 60/40 setup on the car but that will probably come at the end of the summer. So which RSM's should I get? And if you could please include links.

Also I replaced my brothers RSM's on the coupe but how much harder is it to do it on the vert?

    Thanks

its just as easy on a vert except you have a bit of a tighter area that your wrench has to get into, you know how to get to them right? under the conv boot.

yea, the mechanic said they take the top off to get more room but I didn't think this was needed. This guy has helped me out numerous times but this is one thing I think I can do by myself.

But should I stick to stock RSM's? I really don't want to change them when I put the new suspension in.

Anyone? I need to order these so I can put them in next week. Do coupes and verts have the same RSM's?

Anyone suggest any other than stock?

I dunno which ones you should get - anything but stock.

As for replacement - why would you remove the top???

Just put the back half of the top up and pull those rubber plugs out, remove the two 13 mm ( I think) bolts and the shock will drop down into the wheel well.

One - you need to add Rob as one of your options.

two - I vote for IE! I love mine! :)

I've had the E46 M3 cabby mounts for several years now, they've worked out very well and were cheap too.

This is what I thought but I called him today and he said it is not necessary but they do it because it gives them more room to work. I am going to do it myself.

Do forum members get discount with IE?
Is there a difference between coupes and verts?
Will the IE's work good with the FK suspension?

That's alright, I'm sure we'll let it slide this time.

I have IE RSM's on my 'vert. Easier to mount than in a coupe because you don't have to fool with the trunk carpet. They are the same mounts as for a coupe - no difference in a 'vert other than where you access them. You have to have a BMW specific "special tool" to hold up the cabrio top while installing the RSM's. Forget the part number, but I think it is called "der icen scrapen und cabrio topen holderin" ;)

Are you happy with the IE's?

I think I have one of those tools already paid a lot for it. haha

                              Anyone try BMA's?

Are the IE's really worth 90 per pair compared to BMA's 19.95 per side?

                              Thanks
