    mystery noise from front end

guys, my 86es has developed a strange sound from the front end. sounds like the right side. you can also kind of feel it through the steering wheel. it's a low pitched droning sound like tire to road sound and the feeling is like someone layed a tuning fork to the car, not a shake or vibration. thing is, when turning to the right the slightest bit it goes away. to the left, maybe a little stronger. also changes when hitting dips in the road. the wheel does not feel hot after a long drive. i'm not very familiar with suspension or steering work so a little advise would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bad front bearing to me. When you turn left, you're transferring the weight to the the right side, hence why the sound gets louder.

Fairly easy job. This is a good DIY: http://ilovemye30.blogspot.ca/2013/0...placement.html

Absent a puller Drill a small hole part way through the race and hit it with a chisel. It should break.

Did you remove the inner race of the new bearing and install the new hub with the old inner ?

I cut them part way through with a die grinder, or dremel. Place the chisel in the groove you cut, and smack it with a hammer. It will split in two and fall off
