87 325e with m tech suspension ?

I have an 87 325e. I recently found out it has the m tech suspension on it , but haven't been able to find any other e cars that had the m suspension too.. Is this common or is it something that had to be 'asked for ' as an option .

Also, I haven't seen an e with the same color combo that I have. (Alpine weiss/cardinal red ) . is that common ?

I have one as well (86 e). Dealer papers list it as m sport, but some vin decoding sites say m tech or something.

I wasn't able to tell any difference since, by this point, any original suspension is completely shot out. My guess is better struts, maybe different springs (again, hard to compare original parts at this age). I haven't been able to find any definitive information about it, however.

Looks pretty cool on a vin readout however.

There used to be more cars with red interior but a lot were swapped.

I got the paperwork straight from bmw corporate saying it has the m tech suspension

Cool. Take any pics? Did it have M tech springs (1/2" lower and stiffer) with Boge low pressure gas shocks?

So this is what it was? I searched forever but must have been typing the wrong phrases into google....

I'm not sure just assumed based on what I have seen. M3 springs lower the 325 about 1/2 or 1" (I forget) with stiffer rates and M3's had bmw branded Boge gas shocks and 14.5mm rear sway bar. Suspension on my m tech was already changed when I got it.
