Replacing oil in front struts with Koni Sports

Quick question- as we all know there is oil in the front strut housing that is used as a cushion. I drained and replaced the oil when I installed JOM coilovers (do yourself a favor and never buy them)

I'm swapping in Koni Adjustable gas Sport struts now, however I'm reading off of pelican that for gas Bilsteins Sports you DO NOT add/replace oil- sounds like they get installed dry. Is it the same way for Koni Gas Sports? Just wondering before I jump into doing mine.

    Thanks!

You do not need oil. It's for transmitting heat to the housing with hydraulic shocks and is not required for your swap

Oil is for heat transfer between strut and housing.

Bilstein sports are an inverted strut, so there is no heat to be transferred in the housing, however the bumpstop will eventually get destroyed by oil if it isn't cleaned out before install.

The instructions that came with the iX Koni Sports says to add oil. Since there's no internal bump stop down there, and they're not inverted, it makes sense.
