E30 with E36 rack question

So not too long ago i swapped in a 98' M3 rack into my car, but since then there has been a constant howling until the car warms up. I mean the power steering screams, but then slowly gets quieter as it warms up. Ive bled the system completely, changed fluids, swapped multiple pumps, but i cannot seem to trace down the issue. Any help is appreciated

Tighten your power steering belt.

That could also be low fluid. Sucks air when cold, then warms up, expands and no longer sucks air

If the filter in the PS reservoir is clogged, the pump will be starved for fluid and make a whining noise, totally unlike a belt squeal. The only repair is a new reservoir.

Reservoirs can be flushed as the filters are just strainers, but they are only about $20 new and it does have a 100k service interval recommendation for replacement (nothat anyone ever does that unless they have to)
