45mm vs 51mm struts for s50 swap weight?

My car came with the 45mm strut housings and I have an s50 swap on it. Would the 51mm be better for controlling the extra weight in the front end?

There's probably better strut insert selection for the 51mm housing, and the vented rotors wouldn't hurt. I don't think you'll see any real benefit stock-for-stock

Would it be true that for instance, a Bilstein sport shock in 45mm and 51mm would perform identically?

In theory the bigger the shock the better. More oil, better cooling, more consistent valving over time. If you have money for an s50, why you no put proper suspension in?

Well I'm happy to put proper suspension in, just needed to know if it was necessary :)
