The holes at the end of the bar are softer. As you move away from the end it'll get stiffer.
If your endlinks are fixed liked OE links, then make sure the hole on the left is the same as the hole on the right.
If you have adjustable endlinks, then you can mix and match the left/right side to come up with 6 settings instead of just 3. Just make sure you adjust those endlinks with the car on the ground so you introduce as little preload as possible.

Mike, can you elaborate on the adjustable endlink thing? I have ST sways that are supposed to have rear adjustable endlinks but due to a shipping mixup I never got them and was forced to use my stock endlinks. I left everthing on the soft setting for winter but I will be getting the new endlinks soon and would like to know what my setup options will be?

      Thanks!

        Sure.

Adjustable endlinks are used when you have coilovers primarily and mostly after you corner balance. You corner balance the car with the sway bars disconnected. Then reconnect the sway bar and adjust the endlinks so that they don't change your corner balance weights.

If you're using the same hole on the left/right, then the adjustable length is only critical with a corner balance so you can eliminate preload.
If you're using a different hole on the left vs. right, then you need an adjustable length link so there's no preloading on the sway bar when you connect it all up.

        Hope that makes sense.

So basically it's just another way to even out the car when my fat ass is behind the wheel... That makes a lot of sense and clears some things up for me though, thanks!
