Yea, well I am really bias considering my DD has H&R race, Billy Sports and 25/22 sways.. Just a really basic setup on my Turbo, Intrax springs, tokiko illuminas/billy HD and Sparco strut brace (SOON to change...)

        Nope, just ish.

Great kit if you want to slam your E30 to the ground, but other than that, it's not very good. Squishy as hell. Jordan originally had it in his car, and the couple of times I rode in it with the CupKit, that car had as much body roll as stock.

Just joking. I know the cup kit sucks. Anyone have that picture from a long time ago when Jordan was driving his car really hard or doing a donut? You could really see how weak the cup kit is in terms of body roll and softness.

            Ah, ok.

Yeah, it sucks. I almost bought it for my car when I was suspension shopping. SO glad I didn't.

This thread made me think while I was cruising around last night.

My rear suspension actually unseats the springs over very large bumps. I've wondered what the huge freefall crashing was when I traverse a really bad road; it's the body of the car lifting up, then on the way down falling freely then crashing down on the spring again. I've always thought something was amiss back there, but this seriously makes perfect sense now. It does it with my current 5.5" springs, and never did with the 7" ones.

Of course, the roads I'm talking about are rarely seen anywhere in the USA besides the cities in the worst part of the snow belt (Detroit, New York, etc). You guys anywhere else would probably never experience this.

I got air in my old e30 going over the seaside bridge, the only thing
I was worried about was my oil pan.

You would have to have a ton of air for your struts to full uncompress to a point where the springs could come out.

This is worthless info from me - but I had Racing Dynamics springs with Billy sports and got about 12" of air. It was not on purpose, and it was on a loose sandy road that had construction going on. Out of nowhere - not even a bump sign the road dropped about 12". I was going about 40 MPH and I remember the steering wheel went loose and the car slammed into the ground with a splash of sand from the front spoiler.

I was ULTRA pissed, and pulled over to look at the car. No DAMAGE. Thank god - it was a 2 hour ride home! lol

Not at all. If I cared enough, I'd jack up my subframe to show you how fast GC rear springs lose tension. Completely falling out is another story though.

The shock should be matched properly to keep the spring under a LITTLE tension when unweighted.

yup, is illegal down here to have springs that aren't captive. most people solve the problem by shortening shocks.

I have no issues with it and my car handles better then Derek's

GC is next, but the Cup Kit is far from trash.

Not much body roll in the garage eh? :p

Having ridden and driven in stock suspension, cup kit cars, and cars setup like derek's or mine, I definitely think IE3 with bilstein or koni's handles much better than a cup kit setup. my .02

Well considering all urethane bushings, ST Sways, M3 Offset, and the Cup Kit I handle very well, and I disagree and did not really enjoy derek's suspension.

I have very little body roll with my setup, the sways took care of most of that.

Hows that clutch replacement going? And you work non stop on restoring a car for a year, it gets old.

And sorry but I will not have suspension that has uncaptive springs, even if I take a handling hit for it.
