i would also look at cosmo coil over's cheap yes but on e30tech they have been talked about with being as stiff as IE3's and not sure on max drop but i am sure they can go somewhat low, and if they aren't low enough for ya idk. $202 shipped to my door i am not going to complain about how low they go but i think you can go 0-1.75" drop

I was just on the tunershop website and saw the 60/40 drop springs. you have to look at the second page. secondly, if you really want to have a coilover setup that you can go REALLY low with you are going to have to shorten your shock body and run shortened shocks like konis. if you run your billy sports with how low you want togo, you are gonna bottom out. ground control only guarantees a drop of less than 2 inches because of the length of the factory strut casing. ask bmw808 how he achieved that drop and he will tell you that he had to run shortened shocks. so if you plan on doing a coilover setup, be ready to spend close to $1000.

alright cool. that makes sense now about the coilovers. do i need to get the shortened shock body if i want the 0-1.75" drop?? i mean i want to go fairly low but i dont want my car to scape the ground over every bump i hit. and also let me get this straight, there is a company called st (suspension techniques) in california and they no longer make the 60/40 drop and their springs are kinda soft, then there are the springs from tunershop and they are called ts, and they are stiff and have the 60/40 drop??

i suggest you just go with the billy sports or koni adjustables, billy sports are made for lowered cars. Koni's you can adjust the height. So if you plan on lowering your are you will need some kind of shock that is designed for it. Cosmo's are 448/560 and i lied you can go from 0-1.35". If you don't want to scrape your better off with cosmo's even at the lowest adjustment i believe a good driver would never scrape them. I know that a fellow e30 that bought the bav auto springs i believe a 1.3" drop and he still scrapes his pfeba lip, but he also sucks at pulling into driveways, takes it like it's a truck.

Ok first of all.....i don't know what this guy ^^^^^ is talking about. There are no shocks that is height adjustable. The only thing adjustable about shocks are its stiffness. Coilovers are what are adjustable. Secondly, what GC states as far as how much it will lower your car by applies to a car with no strut housing modifications whatsoever. So if you took their kit an placed in your car with no mods, that is what ride height you will achieve. If you wanted to go that much lower, you have the option of cutting your spring perches or cutting/welding your strut housing acoordingly. Now about the ST suspension. I don't know who owns who, whether it is ST owns KW or KW owns ST. Not too sure. But the kit that is available is kind of a KW/ST kit and yes it is offered by both ST and tunershop. If you look at ST's website try and look under the application guide for the SPEEDTECH springs and you will find that under the BMW e30 area that they offer those springs with a drop of 2.6 and 1.6. So if you get them from ST or TUNERSHOP, i am sure they are the same thing. Here is a link to give you a better understanding of what type of work needs to be done if you want to go that much lower with coilovers:

Sorry, i am sorta a newbie with non drag racing suspension. Grew up in a very muscle car family. I would just go with koni's then because i would adjust them everyday depending on my mood, that makes me very more happy. I thought as you adjusted the height if you went lower it increased the stiffness as you went down.

damn. first of all, i HAVE bilstein sports right now. I am getting the gc coilovers. I am getting 450f/650r. And I want to know WITHOUT modifying the bilsteins what kind of drop I can get. Is it still 0-1.75?? or less or more? and also I looked on the ST website and I saw that they had the 60/40 drop so I called them and they said that it is NO longer available. they said that the lowest they had was 50/50. I am NO longer interested in springs. And btw you CANNOT raise and lower konis. you can only adjust the STIFFNESS. whew.

I am not trying to imply that it is the same product but that if you oder from ST or Tunershop you will still get the same (ST) spring setup. the only reason why I say KW/ST is because if you were to order"KW" anywhere they are gona send you the ST'S. when I ordered mine from Tunershop they did not correct me when I said I wanted KW. the just told me "ok we will go ahead and order the KW 60/40 for you and ship it to your door". kinda sucks but oh well. anything is better than my eibachs. hey EGK2, exactly what modification would I have to do to the bekkers top hats to make them fit? thanks! If you really wanted to order the 60/40 springs you can contact Steve from Tunershop.com and he would gladly place that order for you. I am sure that you would get it fairly quick because the warehouse is in Cali. I do not have coilovers and i cannot tell you from the top of my head exactly what GC states the lowest their product goes for our application. I want to say that what you stated earlier, 0-1.75 sounds about right. CHeck their website, i am sure they have it posted. Keep us posted and let us know what you decide! Good luck!

That's kind of shady how they are automatically substituting ST's for the KW's when they are not even close to being the same product.

low is no good for Daily Driving unless you live in a super flat area and have no driveways speed bumps etc.
question how the hell do some of you guys on these 2 inch drops jack your cars up? I gotta crank my factory jack all the way down then jack my car up enough to fit my real jack under it THEN jack it up what the hell do you guys do it?
sorry for the thread jackOriginally posted by ebelementsAlso, for those who don't know, negative camber is the greatest thing since sliced bread(panera). Even tire wear is for city busses and the elderly.

Use a good low pro floor jack or if your car is really low, use wood or plastic mini ramps.
