    Bilsteins and gc's???

So i've got a new set of billy sports,
was going to run them w/ 60/40KW springs, but I know how insanely picky I am, so I think it'll be better to just go with adjustable coilovers from the get go (the KW springs are fs if anyones interested also).

I know Koni's are the established norm for more aggressive setups/coilovers,
but has anyone tried running bilsteins with this type of setup?

    I'll be on 215/45/16's x 8.5 et20 and will be quite low.

    haven't settled on springrates yet,
but what's the limit the bilstein sports can handle?

    any advice appreciated,
    thanks!

Normal Bilstein Sports will be bottoming out all the time if you run your coilovers low. Bilsteins have an internal bump stop, and if you are running low, there is very little travel before hitting the bump stops.
I'd recommend getting the C3 Motorsport coilover kit that includes the short bodied Koni's.
That's what I am running in my 325i, and my brother is running in his 318is and we both love them.

Hmm, do the bilsteins have less travel that stock or something?

      I'm familiar w/ shortened koni's on honda's.. they're crazy expensive.
what's the c3 price range at?

Also, hows the comfort on that setup?
I don't need it to be like riding on a cloud or anything, but i'm not sure i'm ready for a full track setup just yet. Oh and wut springrates r u runin?
      thnx

You should PM or email Jason (Slyder) on this forum for the price, because I don't know exactly what it is. The entire kit is about $1500-$1600 ish I think.

My brother and I are both using 450f, 750r spring rates with no rear swaybar. I've taken my car to Thunderhill twice since I've installed these, and couldn't be more pleased with how it all handled.
I also daily drive my car, and don't think it's too harsh at all. Of course, the comfort level is all preference though.

*Ohh, and I just realized you are local. Jason is a Bay Area guy as well, so you wouldn't even have to pay for shipping.

          i'll hit him up.
although i'm only going to be local for another month or so it looks like..

I've been using bilstein sports with gc, current rates are 550 front, 650 rear. You deffinetely don't want to run the fronts too low. I raised it up about 3/4" and noticed a big difference in less bumpy ride on rough roads.

Did you have to cut your strut tower?
