    Upgrading the rear shock mounts

I will be doign some work on the car, and I wil be replacing the rear shock mounts.

I was informed that Z3 rear shock tower reinforcement (http://e30m3performance.com/installs...port/index.htm) mite be a good upgrade. Should I use it with the stock rsm or a cabrio/e46M one?

    opinions?

    thanks.

use the "heavier duty" cabrio rsm, our stock rsm's are known to be "weak points" i know I havent had a problem with mine, but there's no harm caused in using heavier duty stuff, I dont personally know about the z3 plates, but i've read that they add rienforcement, so why not try em? your on the right track...

He asked if they are a good idea, not if they "add reinforcement."

Anyways, the tried and true OEM setup seems to be E46 M3 RSM's w/ the Z3 plates. If youre not running a too wild suspension they should work just fine.

actually i wanted to get an opinion from people running stock mounts with the z3 reinforcements.
Or I could just get e46 cabrio mounts on its own.

From what i gathered, I don't think i need both the cabrio mounts AND the z3 reinforcements for the setup i will have.

Why not? New E46 M3 mounts are cheap, it really cant hurt.

Rear shock mounts need to be replaced sooner or later anyways, might as well go with the E46 M bits.
