I have thought about it since your first post, and all I can think that could explain is:

    1) your old struts were worse than you thought.

    2) your old struts were the p30 (small body) special BMW units that used a special gland nut compared to p36 which is your new BilSport 0335

    3) your old struts were not e30 sport (maybe another BMW)

    4) your new struts are revalved and you dont know it

    4) you are nuts

Now, just so you do not think you are barkin up the wrong tree, a 30mm Bilstein, with the -exact-same-valving as a 36mm Bilstein will behave differently because of the volume of oil available. The valving is the same, it shows up the same on a shock dyno, BUT when it gets warm it will feel different.

      this sucks.

is it really a dire need to have bisltein sports for lowering springs?
my application is simply a daily driven car, careful driver,
and occasionally some spirited drive up the canyons, which i rarely get to do nowadays.
anyway the springs lower 60mm front and 35mm on the rear,

are the really sports my only option?
does anyone actually have experience of KYB blowin up on them?

400 is just a big chunk of money.
i think a lot can easily agree..

best modification to any car is a clean car.

I guess I had better check on these..I know my rears are mismatched HD/sport and I consistently hear a solid dunk sound when hitting potholes...but I feel like its more my bushings than anything else.. is it still important of I'm only on HR sports all around?

mkcman sounds like the rear shock mount. And if you wanna hear some decent shit about kyb's talk to stereo installer.

damnit. all this arguing is confusing me... I am running bilstien HD'z on my cabrio right now on stock springs.

If i get H&R cabrio specific spring which only drop about an 1.4" in the front and .75" in the rear, would running them with my HD'z be detrimental or not????
                  please someone advise

This guy is an idiot, bounce equals blown.

If you replace your springs and your ride gets really bouncy your shocks are blown. If you have new HD's, sell them to someone who isn't going low.

Where can you even find Bili sports anymore?
I literally just pulled the trigger on some Koni sports since I couldn't find any Bili's that were on back order for eternity...

I almost bought them from a few different suppliers. I had a hard time finding the Koni's I needed, so but I found them from Shox.com
