    What is wrong with my Ronal LS's track width 15 x 7.5, 4 x 100

I have been sitting on these LS's that came with Yokoyama S drives 205-55-15. After Install the front tires make slight contact with the strut. I tried a 10 mm and 15 mm spacer and while it fixed that problem it brings the front and rear wheels out too much. I rolled the rears but , its still so close to the lip under compression (AX) its gonna hit. The fronts poke out so far it looks stupid to me and the tire now rubs the front fender liner. I suspect its a combo of my suspension parts and tire choice but I was under the belief that with these wheels you do not need spacers.

My set up is all new

Koni SA sports with H&R sport springs.
IE race front adjustable camber plates set to the center of the adjustability - 2.1 * camber
Garagistic off set Treehouse FCAB. This is a correction
    Lemforder C/A
Garagistic spec e30 non adjustable sway bar
    Lemforder sway bar end links

Pictures will be added with 15 mm spacers installed soon.

205 S drive looks chunky as if it indeed a 7.5". Maybe they are just a large tyre for the size? i woulda thought that was a 215 at least based on looks.

I used to run a similar setup with Ronal LS wheels, and the S.Drive tires ran wide for a 205. However I did not need a spacer to clear the struts, even with 225 RS4 Hankook tires (occasionally used a 5mm spacer up front). I wonder if the strut is slightly bent. This is from having several sets of these wheels over the years on a couple different e30s.

i hope this doesn't extend to the yoko advan fleva's. i've got a set ordered for my ronals in 205/50/15. around here you've got to put tire requests in months in advance.

edit: i'm on the classic billy and h&r sports combo. inch or so drop. maybe a hair more.

OP is your clearance issue the same on both sides? that would tell you if the strut is bent (assuming they both arent bent..)

Same issue on both sides. If the strut is bent it would be from prior ownership. I feel like bending the strut, is something I have read on hear in the past. Is this a negative situation or just an added hurdle to get around? The 15 mm spacer is a no go for me, (This is also confirmation that those widebody kits will never end up on my cars).

If I am understanding the contributors correctly and a big tire and they are ( The S drives are over an 1/4" wider than the 205/50/15 falken RT660 ) is the issue.

Anyone know of the actual clearances they have up front with LS's?

I did some crude measuring tire to strut tube clearance with no spacer. It is -1/8". The S drives have a protrusion built into its design just above the wheel. That protrudes out +/-5/16" beyond the wheel. I also measured the back spacing in inches and was not super exact but repeated the the same procedures on my Kosei K1 15 x 7 wheels. The Ronal's are approximately 5 1/4" wheel edge to mating surface and the Kosei's are 5 1/8". The Kosei's have the 205 50 15 Falken 660's mounted and the clearance to the strut is - 3/4". Smaller tires will solve my problem's. While i did not want to buy tires because the S drives have just a few hundred miles on them , I did. Americas Tires Nitto Neo Gen all season, 205/50/15 with a 280 TW and good enough reviews for my spirited driving style. Good for most seasons of driving in the Arizona high country unless its snowing . Pictures when I get them mounted with no spacers.

The Nitto Neo Gen all season, 205/50/15 had the same rim protector built into it. That was a fail!

I wonder if its the Garagistic off set Treehouse FCAB. It does pull the wheel forward in my wheel well. On my 318 track car the FCAB was centered and the TRM C1s fit with room to spare. My bottle caps fit but , well they are bottle caps. Its not the look as much as tire size.

Sold the Ronal LS's. My solution is 15 x 7 in LT Grey TRM C1's from Tire rack with Nitto Neo gen all season 205 50 15's.
