how wide of tires can stock weaves take?

looking to pick up some rims from a forum member but he says he's got 225s on them and that seems way too stretched out but they look alright. what's the deal with that? okay or no no?

I had 225/50/14 on my weaves for a bit as autocross tires. They were Toyo RA1's and were a bit more harsh then the stock tire size but nothing unmanageable...and for whats it's worth I thought they looked fantastic...not too much bubble but about as wide as you can go stock.

225 is bulged, but works fine.

I had 225/50/14 v710's on stock weaves, they wouldn't clear the front strut housing. Looks like you'd need an 8mm or so spacer.

as long as it's a race tire, the sidewalls are stiff enough that it really doesn't matter. 225/50-14 hoosiers on basketweaves are super light and a lot of fun.

I think you only need a 5mm spacer up front though

Interesting I never needed any spacers with the Toyo's

                well just because it says it's a 225 doesn't mean it's actually 225mm at it's widest

v710's and Hoosiers run wider then RA-1's. The manufacturers reported widths are 8.9 for the RA-1 vs. 9.1 for the v710 and 9.4 for the A6 (that's all on a 7" wheel). 1/2 inch diff between the RA-1 and R6 = 13mm, 6.5mm in each direction. That's why you need the 5mm spacer.
