    Final offsets_ 20 rear, 5 front.
    looking to get some 5mm spacers for rear.

    Yes they are technically required. If you go to any serious tire shop, they will have technical data regarding what width of tires can be mounted on what width of rims. Both for handling and safety considerations.



    Look at the pictures of the rear wheels in the first post. Don't you think that stretching the sidewalls this way won't affect handling and safety? As for esthetics, I won't comment as it is clearly a non-objective matter.

    Or go to a semi slick, They are generally a fair bit wider than conventional tyres. My 205 r888 was even wider than my old 225 falken fk452's.
