Yup, they had just set the car out.
Well I had considered a 5 lug swap before but really didn't see a reason to since it would cost alot for the swap and really nice wheels to make the swap worth it. Now that I have the wheels that just need to be refinished, I have alot of incentive.
And since im not hip with the lingo and haven't searched yet, wouldn't et11+15mm spacers put me at roughly et25? (Im under the impression that that's the e30 offset)sigpic

you lose offset with spacers.Yup, they had just set the car out.

et11 + 15mm = -4ET final
you'd have to machine the hub to get a higher offset. that's risky business if you want to take off a significant amount.(I'd say more than 2-4mm, but i don't know much about machining wheels)'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

Dunno why everyone is freaking out over these, with a proper refinish they'll probably end up around $1500 for the set and they'll still be 5x120. Add another 2k on to go 5-lug and it's not a great deal at all. You can buy a set of nice bolt on 4x100 for around $2000..
Maybe I'm just bitter about buying junkyard-find wheels in the past and they turn out to be a serious headache and pile of regret later, but that's just my experience.

also, offset is related to the wheel as well. look at an offset calculator and you'll begin to understand.
example:
8" wheel with 0 offset is 4" on each side of the hub.
6" wheel with 0 offset is 3" on each side of the hub. from there you push in or out with your offset, and back-spacing becomes more important.
example: I had 16x6 wheels and I moved to 17x7.5, although the ET was lower on the 7.5" wide wheels, they rubbed on the inside.
You should use spacers to correct issues with calipers, rubbing, etc. Or to get a wider track.
ET11 on an 8" wide wheel -- I don't have to use a calculator to check, but I'm pretty sure that's gonna poke.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

So according to stock caps (width=6 et=35):also, offset is related to the wheel as well. look at an offset calculator and you'll begin to understand.

8" wheel with 0 offset is 4" on each side of the hub.
6" wheel with 0 offset is 3" on each side of the hub. from there you push in or out with your offset, and back-spacing becomes more important.

ET11 on an 8" wide wheel -- I don't have to use a calculator to check, but I'm pretty sure that's gonna poke.
Inner: 1mm less
outer: extends 49mm
According to weaves (width=6.5 et=30):
inner: same
Outer: extend 38mm
So wouldn't rolling the fenders roughly 2-3cm fix it?sigpic

sounds about right. You'll have to see if you need to roll them that hard. I don't really know about fitment with these cars. The other question is if you're low enough to even need to roll.'84 318i M10B18 147- Safari Beige

L is a great guy and I agree 100% with that^ L has some SICK wheels. The price of professionally refurbishing, balancing, and refinishing 3-piece wheels will be closer to $250 per wheel if done properly. On top of that, these are the wrong bolt pattern AND the wrong offset for your car (surely the wrong center bore diameter as well).
Personally, I would take Levent up on his offer: trade them in.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

thats a good point, if i use them it'll be on my comfortable cruiser. i've got H&R Sports for it, but im not sure if i can use them if i go with a 5-lug setup. but no matter what i put on it, its not going to be very low.
well i looked through his picsa album and nothing really jumped out at me that wasnt 5 lug. i think it'd just be really cool to have legit 3-piece wheel.sigpic
