need new tires for a few sets of wheels

well i ordered the jline wheels so i am going to need a tire for a 17x8 but i'll just stay with a 215/40 on those wheels. I was thinking i would get the new g-force sport. I also wanted to get a set of tires for my 15 inch ix wheels. I have blizzaks for winter so i just need a decent mileage street tire for random use (something sticky for fun?).

what size is the stock ix tire 205/50 r15?

Also what size tires are best for a mtech cabrio on stock suspension rocking stock 14 inch weaves.

    17x8 what tire ?
    15x7 ..... ?

and what size for the 14 inch baskets.

My 215/40/17's look stretched on a 7.5" wide rim, I don't know if you're into that look. The G-Force Sports are awesome though, good choice.

For the OEM iX wheels, are you willing to sacrifice treadwear for stickiness, or do you actually want a more practical tire? I'll push towards fun tire and recommend Falken Azenis RT-215, RT-615, or Hankook RS-2's, all in 205/50/15. Fun fun fun tires, just don't expect more than 10k out of them. If you want to keep it sensible (booorrrring), Falken ZE-512's offer 30k of wear and great traction, even in auto-x/track settings. Plus they're dirt cheap.

Stock size on the cabrio would be 195/65/14. Get 205/60/14's for the great ZE-512's, or 195/60/14 for fun tires (same ones I listed above, they're all made in that size only for 14").

thanx thats the info i needed. My sisters cabby doesn't get sticky tires. about the 215's i just need to make sure i don't have any serious rubbing if i go 225. I went with a really aggressive offset but i do want to take advantage of the free shipping from discounttire so i need to order soon (before the wheels get here).

I would get the Ziex 512 in 205/55-15 (stock) for your weaves and use those when the weather sucks but it's not snowing out.

for the stock weaves I would go with the Continential Conti-extreme, they are like $55 (tirerack) and are good tires overall. Snow/dry or rain.

225s would look retarded on a 7" wheel.. and 205s are cheaper.

the ix has blizzaks for winter so i don't much need tires for all weather. Also my ix will most likely be in the garage all winter when its snowing. Sounds retarted i know, but its my baby and i have other 4wd cars to drive. 205's are fine for the ix, and i will get the ziex for the cabby i guess.

nando do you think i can pull of 225's on my 17x8's or will they rub horribly?

225s will be tough without the right offset. what did you end up getting for an offset? the fronts are really no problem, it's the rear you have to worry about since rolling our fenders is tough because of the flares.

There is only one 225/40-17 tire anyways, and its a crappy Nitto.

in that case stick to 215/40, that should fit no problem.

215/40 will work fine, you will have good clearance. Robbie's car has Parada Spec 2's in 215/40-17 on a 17x7" rim and it looks great. The side walls are nice and bulky, and he doesn't rub with ET20. 8" wide rim will pull the sidewall out a little bit, so you won't have a big meaty sidewall, but it will give you some more clearance.

Which color JLines did you get? Did you get the 6RL2?

Just to show you what I was talking about, here's my 17x7.5" wheel with a 215/40/17 tire:

As you can see, it's already stretched a bit. With the 8" it'll be really noticeable. It's a small detail, but I know it really bothers some.

And yes, the GC's were still at the winter (higher than stock) height there. :P
