    buying new tires.

i'm purchasing new tires because i refuse to drive down to waterfest with snow tires on.

what do you think about Falken ZE-512's. the place i'm buying them from says they have a 60,000 mile tread waranty.

if it helps, i drive aggresively about 25% of the time, so im not looking for a serious race tire.

    i have a 88 325ix. please help me out.

    thanks, marco

I work as a tire tech and these tires have a cheaper feel to them, as compared to most other tires. I usually see these tires wearing very fast and thats on a lot of different types of cars and small utes. I would recommend getting some other tires. You get what you pay for.

I've loved them for the last 2,000 miles. I don't know about tradwear. They aren't as grippy as many other tires I've owned, but behave much better in the rain.

I will vouch for the fact that they wear abnormally fast. After about 10,000km I can see they are wearing at the exact same rate as my RT-215's last year, and those are only rated at 200 treadwear versus 360 for these. Add that to the fact that I haven't driven the car nearly as hard as last year (worn struts just replaced a week ago and less time to auto-x) and it makes me even more suspicious. Looks like I'll only be pulling one season out of these Falkens.
