Just use whatever. A good sandable/filler primer will help the final finish look a lot smoother.

use primer if you don't want it to flake off (there are 2 coats of primer on my wheels). duplicolor is probably more than enough..

Any primer would work, just get some from a paint supply store.

well the guy at the media blast place said that certain primers can react with certain paints and cause a bad reaction. I guess i will just take the paint there and have someone help me

would just an auto parts store have the paint?

A good tutorial on all of that...

Awesome how to here. Hope this helps in some way or another. It also shows steps on polishing and what techniques and products are best to use. I will be using the tutorial when the time comes to fix my wheels...

that site is good thanks. I still am trying to figure out how im going to mask it though. its not just a right angle i need to mask along, the lip goes horizontal then curves up a little bit. I've heard of spraying windex or other chemicals (anyone know of any) to apply stickers so you can move them around. I wonder if that would work with maksing tape. I might try some of that liquid too.

make sure you post pics of the gold after you spray them. I need to see what the Wurth looks like. Thanks!

here is after some polishing. I havent used that Meguiar's metal polish stuff, but i guess i might get some when i go to get primer. There are still some imperfections in some of the wheels that look like dents from areas that are lower then others because i had grind down gouges and scrapes. I would have thought after many hours of sanding they would have been even but no.

Has anyone tried that liquid masking stuff? i think i might try and use that around the edge.

                              here is is

                              before

                                polishing looks good!

The gold is a lot lighter than stock, or is that just the lighting in the pic?
