    15" basketweaves on a 318i how?

I want to put 15" baskets on a 91 318i, do I need spacers? Or do they bolt up?

If they're iX weaves, you need tiny spacers in the front (literally 5mm will be safe) and nothing in the rear to mount on a RWD E30. Not many people seem to realize that. Just keep the tires to 205's.

i was under the impression that on a lowered non IX they would rub the struts due to the high offset and camber of the wheel... :?:

                  Wheels don't have camber...

                  And there isn't a huge offset difference between ix's and 2WD e30s. 2WD 14" baskets are et35, and I believe 15" ix baskets are et45.

So will they mount up or do I need spacers or should I just go out to the car right now and find out?

So is H&R the only place to get 5mm spacers, so I need to throw down $50 to get the IX rims on the car, that is fine, but is there a cheaper alternative, it seems like you could fabricate them for less then that.

ix wheels are ET41, regular E30 15" weaves are 24mm.

there's a 17mm difference. you would need a 15mm spacer to put it in about the right place. also, 5mm spacers are not hubcentric. if you're going to bother with spacers, just get the right ones (15mm at least). Otherwise you will certainly rub the struts with the ix wheels, even on the ix there is only a few mm of clearance. it will also look awful being so far inside the fenders (unless you get the proper spacers).

ix weaves are also 7" wide (not 6.5"), and ET41 ;)

although 14" weaves fit perfectly on the ix..

iX weaves with 5mm spacers fill out the fenders exactly the same as iS weaves, down to the mm. Not exactly super-aggressive, but enough for snows or something (what I was interested in).

except they make horrible snow wheels, just ask the ix guys. the weave part fills with snow and the wheels get unbalanced, causing horrible vibrations. they also bend easily..
