    weird idea for custom wheels

I was thinking since the ix rear hubs are different and the rear brakes are ix specific that i could swap to regular i/is rear hubs. This would allow me to run rear big brake kits made for i/is cars that would not fit the ix. My idea was this. Since i will get custom wheels (re-order in spring). I could get 2 different wheels. The front ones would be et35 17x8 and the rear could be et20? (what offset) also 17x8 basically i need to know the exact offset difference between an ix and an i. This would provide 2 cool features. a sweet dished out rear wheel w/ some dish up front as well and also allow me to run some big brakes front and rear at some point.

your thoughts, this was just an idea in my head if its ridiculous please tell me so.

I think it'd be much coooler to run an actual staggered wheel, so the lip is bigger. 17x8" all around with the same tire size but just different offsets isn't really cool, you can't rotate and you really haven't gained anything.

EDIT: Plus, a staggered setup is probably the last thing you want on an iX.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

I've considered this as well as a way to fit wider tires all around. I see no reason why it couldn't be done, and you'd have the added benefit of cheaper rear rotors (although everything else is the same).

TJ, the ix understeers enough as it is, with staggered sizes it could be unbearable. I wouldn't reccomend that to anyone with an ix.

yeah i can't go staggered and i wouldn't. plus that is bad for the transfercase. I was just looking into as a possible way to fit big brakes in the rear since 5 lug is out. You'd need more back spacing up front to clear a bbk so the dish might not be the same anyway.

i also don't give a damn about rotation. The ix is no longer driven daily so i am just building it up the way i want it.
