    Wheels for the ix

i've ruled out custom wheels until i see how the ix does with the turbo (when i get it done). I did order an RPI bbk so i need some new wheels.

recommendations please. I was thinking i'd like to do something different that not everyone has, namely kosei's. I'd also like some lip if i could pull that off. looking for atleast 7.5 inches wide and 16 or 17. I sort of prefer 17's right now only because i have a brand new set of g-force sports here at the house.

Looking for something reasonably light that also shows off the brakes a little.

    found this, looks so hot

I like those azevs.. Always did, you should go for them. as for 16" I like the BBS RG-F (expensive), not really into 17" though. I've done the math on the max widths an ix can run, I don't think it's possible to go any wider than 8". (that means no 16x9 Brock B1s, *sigh*)

tunershop? I don't know, it's been a long time since I've looked at a set. BTW that car is hot, those are 17's in the picture right? makes me want a set! :)

tunershop doesn't have them, but looking at the Azev.de site, they offer a 17x8" wheel from ET30 to ET40.. I wonder if that would work all around on an ix? you could fit some tires on there..

          edit:
there is only one NA authorized dealer http://www.cecwheels.com/

          here's the prices:

unfortunately they cost as much as a set of forged wheels. I'd go with a set of RG-Fs for that price..

funny you should say that, i was just on their site and was going to ask you if you think i could fit them. The ones in the picture at 17x7.5 et40. I'd love to fit some 8's on it.

I think they will, but you'd need the perfect offset. I wonder if they offer an ET35? I think ET30 might be too low for an 8" wheel and ET40 would be too high. you could always do ET40 wheels and get just the right spacer I suppose. I'm trying to figure out exactly what offset you'd need but I think my brain quit working! :P

i know how you feel it drives you crazy, i went through this once with that set of custom wheels i had ordered (if they hadn't messed up i wouldn't be doing this). i'll work it out as well and see what i come up with. 35 sounds about right.

my math based on my current wheels and the space i have between the strut assembly (not much) yielded an offset of about 30. This will probably give me a bit of a euro look, but i will be running 215/40's to start. Let me know what you come up with.

IF you think about it. i have et41 on my stockers and you have et24. that gives me 17mm to go "out" toward the fender lip. I think the other 8mm is also going to have to go "out" in order to fit 8's. there isn't much more run on the strut side. Maybe a finger width between the tire and the strut assembly. Rolling of the rear is inevitable.

                    215/40s on a 17x7.5 or 17x8? I wouldn't personally use a 215 on an 8" wheel but whatever..

I'd have to measure the space between my strut and the tire to figure out the min offset you can run. unless you know the dimension for a stock wheel (actually the wheel doesn't matter, as long as I know the width and offset)? I know when I mounted my stock spare on the car there was barely any room at all between the tire and the strut. but I do know it's not a good idea to go any closer to the fenders than my wheels are now. it would be nice to have an 8" wheel that sits right at the fenders like the euro weaves do.

get me the inner measurement and I'll come up with an offset, and we can compare.

Keep in mind those Avez's aren't very light, especially in 17".

17x8" for iX = approximately ET30 (numerical maximum).

And the G-Force Sports won't look all that stetched on the rim, trust me. They're fatties.

yeah what is the weight like on the azev's?

its not my daily i could get some light wheels in 16 later on, i really like how they look. My car is more show than go at this point anyway (until i do the turbo)

Also to be noted is that i have to price them out. I am just trying to figure out what i need before i ask. Also if they are super expensive i may just go ahead and have those custom wheels made. That ix just looks so bad ass

nando stock wheel is 15x7 et 41

um based on the prices i'll probably order the Jlines i was looking at before if i am going to spend this kind of money. 439 a rim is about what the custom 17x8's were, and that included a special color. I am sure the other wheels are lighter and they are forged. Now i need my brakes so i can figure out clearance issues.

I know the size of the stock wheel.. what I mean is I need to know the distance between any wheel (stock wheel is fine) and the strut.
