    They used different tires. For E30's I remember...Pirelli P6 and Uniroyal's (particularly on the M3's). I remember my moms car having Michellin MXV's but not sure if that was what came on the car when new.

                      My experience has been Perelli P6 or P4. Later Perelli came out with a P44. I think 195/65/14 was the stock size.
