    Mini wheels?

i know that mini wheels have a different center bore and would require spacers, but does anybody know of anyone who has done this? Any pics?

It looks like he used 15mm H&R spacers...you can PM him he is on this board sometimes.

What does centerbore has to do anything with spacers? I understand using spacers for high offset wheels to correct the original offset of E30 but for the bore, if Mini's center bore is bigger than E30 325/318, you can use plastic rings to match correct bore size of E30 325/318, otherwise, it wheel cause steering wheel to vibrate/shake at high speeds, from my experience.

The Mini center bore is smaller.

Yes, you definately need hubcentric rings if the centerbore isn't the same, I needed them for Koseis.

Hubcentric rings will only work if the center bore of the wheel is LARGER than the hub bore of your car. So wheels designed for a direct fit to the mini, meaning no spacers or hubcentric rings, will NOT work on e30s unless you have the center bore machined to fit. I suppose you could use a big spacer to put the inner face of the wheel out past the hub of the car, but you would have major vibration problems because it would not be hubcentric.

couldn't you make a spacer with a hub area that would fit into the mini wheel and the E30 center bore on the other side?

I suppose you could.....but I think it would be easier just to machine out the bore of the wheel a few mm's.

It'd have to be a big spacer, where the lip came off of the lip from the E30's hub.

it's not that hard, just ge a spacer that has the right centerbore... it'd have to be 15mm+ spacers though or else there won't be enough material to make the smaller lip.

machining the centerbore to fit is also a good option but make sure the shop knows what it's doing or you'll get an off-center hole... lol

since you'll have to use spacers anyways, might as well get wheels that come w/ larger centerbores like the standard aftermarket 72mm bores that nearly all the fwd wheels are...
