Of the three 205/55-15 options Tire Rack shows I'd go with the Yoko S-Drives. I had them on my '89 Alpinweiss 325i with the HR/Bilstein set up. They looked good, handled well ('tho not as well as the Star Specs on my Miata) and were pretty good in the wet...
Pickin's just keep getting slimmer. By the time the Dunlop DZ101's that came with the car (not a good tire in the wet I hear, and NLA too, replaced by the DZ102, which hasn't been tested yet by TR) wear out who knows what will be available?
May have to break down and go to 205/50-15 while the RE-11A is still available. I was confronted with that choice when I bought the S-Drives for my Alpinweiss, decided to go for proper diameter and a bigger contact patch, but this time I may have to downsize (and do it soon before they stop making 15's altogether).

Well another years gone past since this thread and tires, if anything, have become even harder to find. I'm looking for summer tires in 205/55. My BF Goodritch g-force's are awesome! Now I come to learn the don't make them anymore... Whats some good tires for under $150 a piece you can recommend? No falken please!Leave a comment:

I use 205/55/15's on mine, Hankook Ventus Prime summer tires. They're actually pretty good, but not as good as the Conti SportContact I used before. Those were great, but they wore a bit.Leave a comment:

I run 205/50/15's on mine. The tire I use is a Kumho KU36. I absolutely love the grip, tough sidewall and responsiveness.
But the car is a toy, I wouldn't use this tire on a daily car. Wet handling is acceptable, but when there is a big amount of standing water, you will be in trouble.
The only downside is that it looks a bit too small. It also lowers the rideheight, but I don't mind :-) acceleration is faster, topspeed lowerLeave a comment:

Bump for opinions/experience on 195-60-15 tires on euroweaves (or any other rim close to the same size - 15x7 et24).I'm considering euroweaves, and am having a problem that seems common on the forums - lack of tire choices in 205-55-15. I've read a lot of threads on tire size and there's a lot of opinions, so I'll ask some specific questions.
My E30 is a 92 vert with stock suspension.
1. Some people like 205-60-15. Other's say they "won't work". I know these have a different diameter than stock, but are there also fitment problems, or is it just the look that some people don't like? Seems to me that some additional diameter may look better with stock ride height, especially in the front.
2. I saw 195-60-15 listed in one thread as an option, but haven't found anyone that uses this size. Best I can tell, the diameter is really close to stock. Does anyone have experience or an opinion on this size?
3. Does anyone have pictures of these tire sizes on an E30 with stock suspension height?
Thanks as usual. I really appreciate all the great info on this site.
Cory

Well thanks! Im running Bilstein sports with coupe H&R sports with 15mm drophats.
IMO, I think that 205/50 work on cars that are a good bit low. Its minimal but 50s show too much gap. They do make the wheels look a tad bigger off the car but matched to an e30, not so much. 50s look the part on a early Vdub or an 2002.Leave a comment:
