Wheel moves side-to-side, help diagnose problem

My wheel moves side to side when I apply pressure to it in a direction going from passenger door to driver door. Moves about 3 inches, and makes a weird noise. When driven, it's really rough over bumps and clunks. What's wrong with it? Here's a video, yes it's upside down, but you get the idea, and yes that is a chromed bottlecap...
New wheels in the works soon.

the last part where I grab the fender and pull took a good bit of pressure, just if that helps.

Is it a wheel bearing? My dad thinks that's what it is but I'm not so sure. Another friend says strut mount. Help me out r3v

    your video doesnt work.

anyways, it could be a number of things. you have to move the wheel like you said but watch the suspension parts to see if something else moves with the wheel. if nothing else moves with the wheel (control arms, steering linkage, strut, etc) then its definately your wheel bearing.

and stop driving the car before you fix it, it sounds dangerous. 3" is awful

Could be tie rod ball joint.

Wheel bearing, ball joints, control arm bushings, steering rack. All can cause this. Seriously stop driving until its fixed. Get a friend to move the wheel while you look under the car and see what's loose.

Jack it up and wiggle the wheel.

pop the hood and watch the strut mount, it looks like the movement is from the top, but the video is upside down so. do what the peeps above said pick it up shake it around, have somebody watch the underside for movement.

Hella interested for verdict, it has to be something glaringly obvious and near the point of complete part(s) failure.

Also OP I'm curious, where are you located? I'm either in 30060 or 30329.

okay so I got someone else to move it, and the whole strut assembly moves with the wheel. The tie rod, control arm/ control arm bushing do not move. Popped hood and the mount visibly moves and is missing a bolt. So I'm concluding it's the strut mount, correct?

That might be the issue but you may also have other parts that are bad or worn out as well. Inspect all components carefully before driving.

About 8 miles north, really close to the Briarcliff Rd/Clairmont Rd intersection.
